I DID IT !! IREALLY DID !!

Doing these 23 things (sometimes it seemed like more than 23) has been a real learning experience. I have explored sites I didn't even know existed and have found some new favorite ones. It is kinda like learning to ride a bike, you can't learn till you get on and pedal. With Library 2.0 we couldn't learn till we got on and PLAYED....and play I did. I spent HOURS each week doing all the searching and exercises, most of it from my laptop at home. I have learned much through this hands-on experience..moving along at my own pace. This isn't to say I am ready and willing to use all the tools I have tried out. Some, I would need more experience using, and I would not declare myself an expert on many of them. It will take more playing and exploring to get the full benefit of this program. During this journey, there was both fun and frustration. It has been a positive experience and I am glad I participated. In a way, I wish it wasn't over..because now when I am playing on my computer, adding something new to my blog (wink wink)...I cannot use the excuse "I am doing my 23 things!!

Can I curl up with an e-book??

As I had mentioned before, I like that old "curl up on the couch, with my blanket ....and read..with a book in my hand". This is just my personal preference, and I have nothing against e-books. I was amazed with the large number of books you could download on the Project Gutenberg site. What a great selection! A little something for everyone.

My "Thank You" to our troops via You Tube....

What a fun time...about anything you can think of is somewhere on this site. Had a hard time deciding which one to add to my blog. Finally decided on the Tim McGraw one. It is placed here to honor our troops. It is my way of saying 'THANK YOU".

To pod or not to pod....

Although this is not an area I would use much, as I am more of a visual person than an auditory one, I can see the benefits of podcasting. One being, adding a podcast to your library homepage of coming events. All you need is the information and a contagious personality with a good speaking voice. I did not have a positive experience using Podcast.net. Had a hard time navigating .....I am not sure if it was the computer or the operator. However, I DID have a positive experience with Yahoo Podcasts. I found it easier to move around the site.
